  • During 11th and 12th December 2019, a meeting with all parties implied in Educa4all project has been celebrated. This meeting likewise the project has the aim of further spreading the need to implement Universal Design principles in Architecture and Civil Engineering degrees, as a way of providing future professionals with the tools to make more inclusive buildings and cities, and as a consequence a more inclusive society. To this purpose, during this session, good practices and past experiences have been shared between all the parts, so based in others´ practices, universities are able to learn and work forward this goal.

    In the same way, some key aspects that have to be considered when implementing Universal Design at university curricula have been tackled, like the role of new technologies and the awareness of knowing the public to who we are building or designing for, to take into consideration their needs.

    Finally, a practical experience has been carried out to sensitize teachers and help them understand in their own the needs of people and the barriers that have to be faced by all that part of population whose needs are not taken into account when designing.
